Google advises US visa holders

Alphabet Inc., a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., has advised its employees on US visas to avoid international travel. This advisory, issued via an internal email from National Immigration Law Center, is due to significant visa processing delays at US embassies and consulates, with some appointments taking up to 12 months. The memo warned that international travel could result in an extended stay outside the United States. This situation is exacerbated by the Donald Trump administration's recent measures, including increased vetting for H-1B visa applicants, which now includes social media screening, and the imposition of a $100,000 fee for new H-1B applications. The H-1B visa program is crucial for the US technology sector, which heavily relies on skilled workers from countries like India and China. Alphabet Inc. had previously issued similar advice in September.
