San Francisco Power Outage

A massive power outage occurred in United States — San Francisco, affecting 130,000 homes and businesses, approximately one-third of Pacific Gas and Electric Company's customers in the city. The outage, which began in the northern neighborhoods and spread, was partly caused by a fire at a Pacific Gas and Electric Company substation. This led to widespread closures of restaurants and shops, darkened street lights, and significant transit disruptions, including bypassed Bay Area Rapid Transit and Muni bus stations. The United States — Florida Division of Emergency Management advised residents to avoid nonessential travel. Pacific Gas and Electric Company later stabilized the power grid but could not confirm immediate power restoration.
