Uba Sani signs Kaduna State 2026 budget

Governor Uba Sani of Nigeria — Kaduna State signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill, totaling ₦985.9 billion, into law. The budget, titled 'Budget of Consolidation of Transformation for Inclusive Development,' allocates 25% to education, 25% to infrastructure and rural transformation, 15% to health, and 11.65% to agriculture and food security. A substantial 70.9% (₦698.9 billion) is dedicated to capital expenditure, focusing on infrastructure development, economic expansion, and improved service delivery. The budget also includes a unique provision of ₦100 million for each ward in Nigeria — Kaduna State for community-driven projects, aiming to correct long-standing exclusion errors. Uba Sani emphasized fiscal discipline, noting that the budget introduces no new loans and that ₦114.9 billion has already been paid in debt servicing.
