Indian Students Safety in Bangladesh

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has written to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, seeking urgent intervention for the safety and well-being of approximately 9,000 Indian medical students in Bangladesh. Ongoing protests, tensions, and violence, particularly in Dhaka, have created an unsafe environment, with students advised to hide their identity and reports of a student leader's death. The Association, through its National Convenor Nasir Khuehami, has received distress calls from students and families, who are anxious about the deteriorating situation. They have urged Narendra Modi, the India — Ministry of External Affairs, and the India — High Commission of India, Dhaka to engage with the Government of Bangladesh to ensure security and dignity for the students, and to consider evacuation if the situation worsens.
