NNPC Ltd. Ogoniland Peace Initiative

The NNPC Limited (NNPC Ltd.), led by Group Chief Executive Officer Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has reaffirmed its commitment to peace, dialogue, and responsible energy development in Nigeria — Ogoni people, Nigeria — Rivers State. This initiative, supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu, aims to address decades of tension and rebuild trust with the local community. Key actions include the employment of 30 Ogoni indigenes by NNPC Limited (NNPC Ltd.) starting January 2026, and commitments to environmental protection, community welfare, and infrastructure development such as road construction, a University of Environment, hospitals, and an industrial park. Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Nigeria — Rivers State and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu have acknowledged these efforts, highlighting the positive impact on regional peace and stability. Nigeria — Ogoni people holds over 40% of the recoverable reserves in OML-11, Nigeria's largest onshore oil block, operated by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation — NNPC Exploration & Production Limited (NEPL).
