Anu Garg appointed Odisha Chief Secretary

Anu Garg, a 1991-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of India — Odisha, making her the first woman to hold this top bureaucratic post. She will succeed Central Board of Secondary Education, who is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2025. The appointment was formalized by the India — General Administration and Public Grievance Department. Anu Garg brings extensive administrative experience, having previously served as Development Commissioner, secretary of the India — Planning and Convergence Department, and additional chief secretary of the India — Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Haryana in India — Odisha. At the central level, she held positions as Joint Secretary to the India — Prime Minister s Office (India), and in the India — Ministry of Textiles and the Bangladesh — Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Her tenure is expected to extend until March 2029, providing long-term administrative stability to India — Odisha.
