CAQM Revokes GRAP Stage III in Delhi-NCR

The India — Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has revoked Stage III and earlier Stage IV restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in India — Delhi and the India — National Capital Region (India) due to a significant improvement in air quality. India — Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) improved from 'very poor' to 'poor' category. While Stage III curbs, which included bans on non-essential construction, mining, and certain vehicular movements, have been lifted, measures under GRAP Stages I and II remain in force to prevent future deterioration. The decisions were made after reviewing air quality levels and forecasts from the Malaysia — Malaysian Meteorological Department and the India — Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. India — Delhi's Environment Minister, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, emphasized continued efforts to combat pollution despite the lifted restrictions.
