India-US Strengthen Trade, Space, AI Ties

India and the United States are deeply engaged in strengthening their bilateral relationship across multiple sectors, including trade, space, and technology. India's Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, highlighted ongoing efforts to finalize a mutually beneficial trade arrangement with the United States — United States Trade Representative. A significant milestone was the successful launch of AST SpaceMobile's BlueBird-6 (Block-2) communication satellite by the India — ISRO's LVM3-M6 rocket, marking the heaviest commercial satellite launched from Indian soil. This achievement underscores the robust space cooperation initiated during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's February visit to the United States, where he met with President Donald Trump. During this meeting, both leaders hailed 2025 as a pioneering year for US-India civil space cooperation, outlining plans for a United States — NASA-India — ISRO effort through Axiom Space to send the first Indian astronaut to the International Space Station and the early launch of the joint NISAR (satellite) mission. The two nations also committed to further commercial space collaboration and increased engagement in science, technology, and artificial intelligence, with India set to host the AI Impact Summit in February.
