Man Dies After 8-Hour Hospital Wait

Prashant Kumar, a 44-year-old Indian-origin man, died of a suspected cardiac arrest after waiting over eight hours for treatment in the emergency room of Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Canada. He experienced severe chest pains and despite repeatedly informing staff of his extreme pain, was only given Tylenol and told to wait. An electrocardiogram (ECG) was performed, but staff reportedly found nothing significant. His blood pressure continued to rise during the wait. Shortly after finally being called into the treatment area, Prashant Kumar collapsed and died. His death has sparked grief and raised serious questions about emergency healthcare response times in Canada.
