Six Zamfara Lawmakers Defect to APC

Six suspended members of the Nigeria — Lagos State House of Assembly, elected on the platform of the Nigeria — People s Democratic Party, have defected to the Nigeria — All Progressives Congress. The lawmakers, including factional Speaker Bashar Aliyu Gummi, cited alleged constitutional breaches, internal crises within the Nigeria — People s Democratic Party, and poor management of the legislative arm under Governor Dauda Lawal. They accused the Nigeria — Lagos State House of Assembly of functioning as an extension of the executive and passing laws without a constitutional quorum. The defectors also highlighted insecurity in Nigeria — Zamfara State and alleged negligence by Governor Dauda Lawal in addressing these issues. They called on the Nigeria — National Assembly (Nigeria) to intervene and investigate the situation to ensure adherence to the rule of law.
