Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi moved into the official prime minister's residence in central Tokyo. The residence, opened in 1929, is reputed to be haunted by ghosts of Japanese soldiers and was the site of two attempted coups in the 1930s where several top officials were assassinated. Takaichi's predecessors, Shigeru Ishiba and Fumio Kishida, also lived there without reporting any ghostly encounters, while Shinzo Abe and Yoshihide Suga lived elsewhere.
