MapmyIndia Mappls adds public transport

MapmyIndia Mappls has launched a significant update to its Mappls App, introducing multimodal public transport routes for metro, rail, and bus travel. This new feature allows users to access comprehensive public transport information, including stations, stops, and interchange options, alongside private vehicle navigation on a single platform. The update is currently available in major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, on iOS and web platforms, with an Android version planned. Rakesh Verma, co-founder of MapmyIndia, stated that this initiative is a direct response to user feedback and aims to make the Mappls App more inclusive and accessible for citizens across India. The company also highlighted its commitment to supporting sustainable urban mobility and its growing collaboration with the government, which now accounts for 20% of its total revenue.
