During the call, Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan's solidarity with Iran amidst ongoing regional tensions and voiced concern over the dangerous hostilities in the Gulf region. He emphasized the urgent need for collective efforts towards de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy among neighboring countries to resolve differences peacefully. The Prime Minister also stressed the critical importance of unity within the Muslim Ummah and assured the Iranian leadership that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region. The discussion took place as the war in the Middle East entered its fourth week, following strikes on Iran by the United States and Israel, which also led to the assassination of then-supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
