Trader Joe's Frozen Food Recall

Trader Joe s has initiated a nationwide recall of nearly 10 million pounds of its frozen food products, including Vegetable Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice, Japanese Style Fried Rice, and Chicken Shu Mai. The recall, which began on February 19 and expanded on March 3, is due to the presence of glass fragments, measuring 1 to 3 centimeters in length and 2 to 4 millimeters in width. Ajinomoto — Ajinomoto Foods North America, the manufacturer, identified carrots as the likely source of contamination. The United States — Food and Drug Administration has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating that while adverse health consequences are possible, they are likely temporary or medically reversible. The affected products were distributed in 43 states, and consumers are advised to discard them or return them for a full refund. No injuries have been reported so far.
