K-Electric, the sole power utility of Karachi, has appointed Syed Taha as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 15, 2026. Syed Taha replaces interim CEO Adeeb Ahmad, who was appointed after the resignation of former CEO Moonis Alvi in February. Syed Taha brings extensive experience, having served as Managing Director and CEO of Pakistan State Oil since February 2020, and previously as Chief Distribution Officer at K-Electric. He also held executive roles at Oasis Energy and Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, and had stints at Pakistan and Pakistan. The appointment was announced via a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
