Bharat Electronics (BEL), a state-run Navratna defense public sector undertaking, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Electronics and RRP Defense Limited, both part of the SK Group. The agreement, signed in Bengaluru on March 24, 2026, aims to jointly develop semiconductors, electro-optics, and unmanned systems. This partnership is a significant step towards strengthening India's indigenous defense capabilities and accelerating capability development in critical defense technologies. BEL will contribute its expertise in defense electronics, while RRP Electronics will provide semiconductor manufacturing knowledge, and RRP Defense will bring its experience in Electro-Optical systems and UAV platforms. The collaboration is also expected to unlock export opportunities, aligning with the India — Ministry of Finance (India)'s export promotion policies. Manoj Jain, CMD of BEL, and Rajendra Chodankar, Founder and Chairman of SK Group, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership for India's defense technology base.
