A Sikh organization, 'Sikhs in Maharashtra', has filed a police complaint in India — Mumbai against the makers of the blockbuster movie Dhurandhar: The Revenge and its lead actor, Ranveer Singh. The complaint alleges that a promotional poster for the film, depicting Ranveer Singh in Sikh attire (turban, long beard, and 'kada') while holding a cigarette, has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikhism community. The organization has demanded action against the film's director, Aditya Dhar, producers Jyoti Deshpande and Aditya Dhar, and Ranveer Singh. The complaint was submitted at the India — Mulund police station on March 17, but no FIR has been registered yet, and an investigation is underway. Despite the controversy, the film, released on March 19, has already grossed over Rs 700 crore globally.
