Malabar Gold & Diamonds announced a substantial commitment of 200 crore Indian rupees ($24 million) towards its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for the financial year 2026-27. The announcement was made in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, who also inaugurated the distribution of educational scholarships for 33,000 girl students across India. The CSR program, managed through the Malabar Charitable Trust, will be implemented across more than 3,000 locations in 19 states, covering 15 major initiatives and benefiting over two lakh people. A significant portion of the funds, 114 crore Indian rupees, is dedicated to education, including micro-learning centers for street children in partnership with Tarbia Education Foundation. Other allocations include 30 crore Indian rupees for food distribution under the 'Hunger Free World' project, 14.2 crore Indian rupees for healthcare initiatives, 25 crore Indian rupees for housing projects like 'Grandma Home' for destitute mothers, 10 crore Indian rupees for environmental protection, and 6.8 crore Indian rupees for other humanitarian activities. Malabar Group Chairman M. P. Ahammad highlighted the importance of human resource development and quality education for national growth. The company's operations are guided by ESG principles, allocating 5% of its net trading profit to CSR activities, focusing on women empowerment, healthcare, education, housing, hunger eradication, and environmental protection.
