Noida International Airport Phase I Inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase I of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, India — Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2026. Developed under a Public-Private Partnership model with an investment of approximately ₹11,200 crore, the airport is designed to initially handle 12 million passengers per annum, with scalability up to 70 million. It features a 3,900-meter runway, modern navigation systems, and a robust cargo ecosystem capable of handling over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes annually. The Noida International Airport will complement India — Indira Gandhi International Airport, aiming to ease congestion and position the National Capital Region as a leading global aviation hub. The project also includes a 40-acre Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility and is designed as a net-zero emissions facility, blending cultural aesthetics with modern infrastructure.
