The IPO filing by Rentomojo is expected to generate significant interest in the Indian market, providing liquidity to early investors like Accel-KKR and Chiratae Ventures. The funds raised will support Rentomojo's debt repayment and expansion, potentially boosting investor confidence in the online rental segment.
Rentomojo, a leading online rental and subscription platform for home furniture and appliances, has filed preliminary papers with the India — Securities and Exchange Board of India for an Initial Public Offering. The IPO will consist of a fresh issue of equity shares worth up to ₹150 crore and an offer-for-sale of up to 2,83,99,567 equity shares by existing shareholders, including Accel-KKR, Chiratae Ventures, Edelweiss Discovery Fund, and founder Geetansh Bamania. The company plans to use the proceeds for debt repayment, lease rentals for its warehouses and experience stores, and general corporate purposes. Rentomojo operates a technology-driven, full-stack direct-to-consumer platform across 22 cities in India, with over 2.27 lakh live subscribers and a market share of 42-47% in the organized online rental segment. For FY2025, Rentomojo reported revenue of ₹265.96 crore and a profit after tax of ₹43.11 crore. Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors, Axis Capital Holdings, and Si Creva Capital Services are the book-running lead managers for the issue, which will be listed on the BSE and National Stock Exchange of India.
