The National Stock Exchange of India, with approval from the India — Securities and Exchange Board of India, is set to launch Dated Brent Crude Oil (Platts) futures contracts on April 13, 2026. This initiative, in collaboration with WSP Global Energy, aims to strengthen India's commodity derivatives market by providing a hedging tool aligned with international crude benchmarks. The cash-settled contracts, based on the WSP Global Energy (Platts) Dated Brent assessment, will be traded under the symbol BRCRUDEOIL and will be converted into India — Indian rupee using the State Bank of India's reference rate. This development is expected to offer Indian market participants, including refiners, importers, traders, financial institutions, and investors, exposure to global Brent Crude prices through a regulated domestic platform, enhancing price discovery and risk management.
