This third tranche of approvals includes major players such as Dixon Technologies (India), Samsung Electronics — Samsung Display Noida Pvt Ltd, Foxconn (Yuzhan Technology India Pvt Ltd), and Hindalco Industries. The projects are expected to generate 33,791 direct employment opportunities and are spread across eight states in India. The approvals cover the manufacturing of 11 target segment products, including bare components, sub-assemblies, and supply chain items, with applications across various sectors like mobile manufacturing, telecom, consumer electronics, and automotive. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw handed over the approval letters. The scheme aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce import dependence for critical electronic components, and support the growth of high-value manufacturing capabilities in India.
