Malaysia Floods: Sabah, Sarawak, Johor

Malaysia is experiencing significant flooding across several states, including Malaysia — Sabah, Malaysia — Sarawak, and Malaysia — Johor. As of early January, the total number of evacuees nationwide reached 1,523. Malaysia — Sabah saw an increase in flood victims, with Malaysia — Kota Kinabalu declared a flood-hit area, leading to 495 people sheltering in relief centers. Malaysia — Sarawak initially reported a decline in victims but later saw a slight increase in Malaysia — Miri, with 166 evacuees. Malaysia — Johor experienced a drop in flood victims, stabilizing at 50 people, primarily in Malaysia — Segamat District. The Malaysia — Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued thunderstorm warnings for parts of Malaysia — Sabah, and river levels in Malaysia — Segamat District, Malaysia — Johor, have risen above danger levels. Two roads in Malaysia — Johor, Jalan Felda Tenggaroh 3 in Mersing and the Kesang–Sungai Rambai Bridge in Tangkak, remain fully closed due to damage.
