Tinubu Appoints Odusote Nigerian Law School DG

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr Olugbemisola Odusote as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Law School. This appointment, effective January 10, 2026, for a four-year term, makes Olugbemisola Odusote the first woman to lead the institution since its establishment in 1962. She will succeed Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma, whose tenure expires on January 9, 2026. Olugbemisola Odusote, currently the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Lagos Campus, brings extensive experience in legal education, having obtained her LL.B. and LL.M. from Obafemi Awolowo University and a PhD in Law from the University of Surrey. Her responsibilities will include academic leadership, administrative management, and strategic direction, as well as serving as a liaison with the Council of Legal Education, the Body of Benchers, and the Canadian Medical Association.
