Nigeria Completes Bodo-Bonny Road

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, commended President Bola Tinubu for the completion of the 37.8 km Bodo-Bonny Road, which provides the first land connection to Nigeria — Bonny Island, a major oil and gas hub in Nigeria — Rivers State, Nigeria. This project ends decades of risky river and expensive air travel to the island, fulfilling a long-standing political promise. David Umahi, Minister of Works, was also praised for his role in realizing the project. Local leaders, including Cyril Hart and Abinye Pepple, expressed gratitude for the road's completion and its anticipated benefits for the people of Nigeria — Bonny Island, including improved access to Port Harcourt. The event also touched upon Nyesom Wike's efforts in promoting women's inclusion in governance in Nigeria — Rivers State.
