The India — National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in collaboration with Rajpath Infracon Private Limited, has achieved four Guinness World Records for highway construction on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G). These records, set on January 6 and January 11, 2026, include the longest continuous laying of bituminous concrete (28.89 lane km in 24 hours), the highest quantity of bituminous concrete laid (10,655 metric tons in 24 hours), continuous laying of 57,500 metric tons of bituminous concrete, and continuous paving of 156 lane km. The project, monitored for quality by IIT Bombay, is a 343 km long, access-controlled six-lane corridor designed to reduce travel distance by 100 km and travel time by nearly four hours between Bengaluru and Vijayawada.
