The co-hosting of Investopia and the signing of the CEPA between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates are expected to significantly boost investment inflows into Nigeria, particularly in renewable energy, infrastructure, and digital trade. This could lead to increased foreign direct investment and economic growth for Nigeria, positively impacting its market sentiment and attracting global investors.

Nigeria, led by President Bola Tinubu, announced it will co-host Investopia with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Lagos in February, aiming to attract global investors and accelerate sustainable investment. On the sidelines of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Nigeria also concluded a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates to deepen trade and cooperation in renewable energy, infrastructure, logistics, and digital trade. President Bola Tinubu highlighted Nigeria's goal to mobilize up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance, emphasizing energy transition reforms and expanding electricity access. Nigeria has also strengthened its climate governance framework with a National Carbon Market Activation Policy and a National Carbon Registry. The Electricity Act 2023 is a key part of Nigeria's energy reforms, enabling decentralized power generation. Nigeria's climate investment drive includes a $500 million distributed renewable energy fund backed by the Nigeria — Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority and a $750 million World Bank Group program. Nigeria reaffirmed its target of net-zero emissions by 2060 and invited foreign investors to partner in its lithium and critical minerals sector. Ongoing economic reforms in Nigeria have resulted in a 21% growth in non-oil exports and over $50 billion in investment commitments.
