India-Pakistan UN Jammu and Kashmir Dispute

India called out Pakistan for misusing United Nations platforms to pursue a divisive agenda after Pakistan's envoy, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, raised the issue of India — Jammu and Kashmir in the General Assembly. Eldos Mathew Punnoose, Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, stated that India — Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and that the right to self-determination should not be abused to encourage secession in pluralistic states. India also emphasized the United Nations' crucial phase and its inability to effectively intervene in critical functions, leading to questions about its efficacy and credibility, especially concerning international peace and security.
