Drug Kingpin Lekan Jimoh Arrested

Lekan Jimoh, a notorious drug kingpin known as 'Kanmo-Kanmo', was arrested by the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on January 16, 2026, in Nigeria — Ogun State, ending a 12-year manhunt. Jimoh was wanted for orchestrating the murder of three Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officers, including Rabiu Usman Kazaure, during an attempted arrest in 2014. He is also known for drug trafficking, evading arrest, and mobilizing armed thugs against security agents. During his arrest, 69 kilograms of skunk were recovered. This significant breakthrough follows a previous raid on his residence in August 2023, where 1,922 kilograms of skunk were seized, and his property was later forfeited to the Federal Government. The arrest is part of a broader series of coordinated operations by the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency across multiple Nigerian states, including Edo, Nigeria — Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, Delta, Oyo, Kwara, and Jigawa, resulting in numerous arrests and substantial seizures of various illicit drugs like skunk, cannabis oil, cocaine, tramadol, codeine syrup, diazepam, swinol, and molly. The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mohammed Buba Marwa, commended the officers, emphasizing the agency's commitment to justice and its balanced approach to drug control.
