Mark Carney's Davos Speech on Global Rupture

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a significant speech at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland — Davos, Switzerland, addressing a 'rupture' in the global order characterized by intensifying great power rivalry and a fading rules-based international system. Carney outlined Canada's new 'principled and pragmatic' foreign policy, emphasizing strategic autonomy for middle powers. He announced Canada's efforts to cut taxes, remove trade barriers, fast-track a trillion dollars of investment in key sectors like energy and AI, and double defense spending by 2030.
