CANEUS, Maharashtra Partner for Innovation Institute

CANEUS International, a Canada-based global organization, has partnered with the Government of India — Maharashtra, India, to establish the world's first dedicated Mid-TRL (Technology Readiness Level 4–6) Innovation Acceleration and Skilling Institute in the India — Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos by Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of India — Maharashtra, and Milind Pimprikar, Chairman of CANEUS International. The institute, spanning 10 million square feet, will focus on frontier technologies such as aerospace, space, energy, and deeptech. It aims to bridge the 'valley of death' in technology development by advancing Mid-TRL innovations through rapid prototyping, systems integration, validation, and flight/field trials. This initiative aligns with India — Maharashtra's Viksit India — Maharashtra 2047 vision and its goal of becoming a trillion-dollar economy, as well as the MIISP 2025 policy. The partnership is expected to attract global conglomerates to India, strengthen business relations between Canada and India, and create industry-aligned skilling pathways through public-private partnerships.
