Le Constellation Co-owner Released on Bail

Jacques Moretti, co-owner of Lockheed Constellation bar in United States — Montana, Switzerland, was released on bail of 200,000 Swiss francs after being detained since January 9. He and his wife, Jessica Moretti, are under criminal investigation for manslaughter by negligence, bodily harm by negligence, and arson by negligence following a New Year's Day fire at their bar that killed 40 people and injured 116. Prosecutors believe the fire started when sparklers ignited sound insulation foam on the ceiling. The Compulsory Measures Court in Switzerland — Valais ordered his release with conditions including a ban on leaving Switzerland and daily police check-ins. The decision has been met with strong criticism from victims' families and the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, who called it a 'real affront'.
