The market outlook from Boeing indicates a strong growth trajectory for the aviation sector in India and South Asia, suggesting increased demand for aircraft manufacturing and aviation services. This positive forecast could lead to increased investment in aerospace companies like Boeing and airlines operating in the region.
Boeing released its Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) for South Asia, projecting a 7% annual rise in passenger air traffic over the next 20 years. This growth, driven by a growing middle class, economic expansion, and infrastructure investments in India and South Asia, is expected to necessitate nearly 3,300 new airplanes by 2044. Single-aisle jets will account for approximately 90% of these deliveries. The region's fleet is anticipated to quadruple from 795 to 2,925 aircraft. Additionally, the report highlights a need for over $195 billion in aviation services and approximately 141,000 new professionals, including pilots, technicians, and cabin crew, to support this expansion. Ashwin Navin, Boeing's managing director, emphasized the integral role of air travel in the region's movement of people and goods.
