Pakistan Cricket Board Confirms T20 Participation

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has scheduled its T20 World Cup squad to depart for Colombo on February 2, effectively ruling out any possibility of boycotting the tournament or the match against India on February 15. Despite earlier speculation in the media about a potential boycott, sources close to the PCB dismissed these reports as rumors. The PCB had previously shown support for the Bangladesh Cricket Board's security concerns regarding playing in India but stated it could not take further action without jeopardizing its standing with the International Cricket Council (ICC). A tripartite agreement between the BCCI, PCB, and ICC ensures all India-Pakistan matches in ICC events until 2027 will be held at neutral venues. Pakistan's entire World Cup schedule, including the final if they qualify, is set to be in Sri Lanka. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, emphasizing the need to ensure a stable future for Pakistan cricket and maintain good relations with the ICC and member boards.
