Gujarat CM Praises Union Budget

India — Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel lauded the Union Budget 2026-27, presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bhupendrabhai Patel stated that the budget reflects Narendra Modi's vision of inclusive growth and a self-reliant India, focusing on economic growth, fulfilling aspirations, and inclusive development. The budget, prepared in Kartavya Bhavan, is centered around three core duties and aims to strengthen key pillars of society, including the poor, youth, farmers, women, and persons with disabilities. Bhupendrabhai Patel highlighted several benefits for India — Gujarat, including special focus on infrastructure, industries, cutting-edge technology, semiconductors, and data centers. He noted that incentives for the manufacturing sector, six schemes for textiles, three chemical parks, and an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore for biopharma industries would boost India — Gujarat's industrial ecosystem. The Dedicated Freight Corridor from India — Dankuni to India — Surat is expected to provide fast logistics services, while the inclusion of India — Lothal and India — Dholavira in the archaeological heritage cluster tourism program will promote tourism. The budget also includes plans to develop Tier-II and Tier-III cities as City Economic Regions and strengthen the municipal bond market, benefiting municipalities in India — Gujarat. Tax reforms, treating errors as mistakes rather than crimes, were also praised.
