Noida International Airport Inauguration Nears

The Noida International Airport at Jewar, a major public-private partnership project, is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this month, as announced by India — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The airport, developed on approximately 1,300 hectares, is in its final stages of obtaining the crucial aerodrome licence from the India — Directorate General of Civil Aviation (India). Once operational, it will become the second international airport in the National Capital Region and India — Uttar Pradesh's fifth international airport, designed to handle an initial capacity of 12 million passengers annually. The project was awarded to Zurich Airport International AG in October 2020 and is being built and operated by its Indian subsidiary, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited. The airport successfully conducted a mandatory calibration flight on October 31, 2025, with an India aircraft, a critical step towards certification.
