George Mitchell's Epstein Links Severed

Queen s University Belfast and the US–Ireland Alliance have severed ties with former US Senator George J. Mitchell due to his links to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. This decision follows the release of millions of files by the United States — United States Department of Justice, which included references to George J. Mitchell. Queen s University Belfast will remove George J. Mitchell's name from its Institute for Global Peace, Security, and Justice and a commemorative bust from its campus. The US–Ireland Alliance also removed his name from its scholarship program. While no wrongdoing by George J. Mitchell has been found, both institutions cited the new information and the experiences of victims and survivors as reasons for their decisions. George J. Mitchell's spokesperson stated he profoundly regrets knowing Jeffrey Epstein and denies ever meeting Virginia Giuffre or having knowledge of Epstein's illegal conduct.
