Nigeria Launches Financial Inclusion Training

Nigeria's Federal Government, through the Nigeria — Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI) chaired by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, has launched a free nationwide training program for 10 million Nigerians. The program focuses on financial inclusion, literacy, investment knowledge, and digital competencies, with a priority on women and youth. An MoU was signed with six professional bodies: the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA), Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria (CRMI), and Nigerian Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NIIE). These bodies will jointly design the program, certification pathways, digital skills initiatives, and mentorship platforms. The initiative is seen as a strategic national investment to build human, institutional, and ethical foundations for inclusive growth, aiming to strengthen Nigeria's financial and enterprise workforce and contribute to a one-trillion-dollar economy.
