The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has achieved a significant operational milestone by fully restoring and optimizing its Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) and Motor Spirit (MS) production block. Both units are now operating at their optimal performance, reaching a full nameplate capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. Following scheduled maintenance, the refinery has initiated a 72-hour performance test run in collaboration with licensor UOP to validate operational efficiency and ensure global standards are met. David Bird, CEO of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, highlighted the advanced engineering and robust capabilities demonstrated by the teams. This achievement is expected to transform Nigeria's energy landscape, eliminate import dependence, and position Nigeria as a net exporter of petroleum products. The refinery, which supplied 45-50 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily during the festive period, is now capable of delivering up to 75 million litres to the domestic market.
