Over the past five years, the MHRA's criminal enforcement unit has seized approximately 20 million illegal tablets, including 4.4 million in 2025 alone. These pills often contain incorrect dosages, no active ingredients, or even toxic substances, posing serious health risks, especially for individuals with underlying conditions like heart disease or high blood pressure. The MHRA, with the support of Andy Morling, head of its criminal enforcement unit, emphasized that criminals are exploiting the 'stigma and embarrassment' surrounding erectile dysfunction. In addition to seizures, the MHRA has actively disrupted over 1,500 websites and social media accounts and removed 1,200 social media posts illegally selling medical products in 2025. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners also advised against buying prescription medication from unregulated online sources, stressing the importance of seeking medical advice.
