The return of ASOS plc — Topshop and Topman to physical retail through John Lewis Partnership's stores is expected to boost sales and market presence for both John Lewis Partnership and ASOS. This strategic move, coupled with John Lewis Partnership's significant investment, signals a positive outlook for the UK retail sector, particularly in fashion.
ASOS plc — Topshop and its sister brand Topman are making a significant return to UK high streets, partnering with John Lewis Partnership to launch collections in all 32 of John Lewis Partnership's department stores and online platforms. This move follows the closure of their standalone stores in 2021 after former owner Arcadia Group collapsed into administration. ASOS, the current owner of ASOS plc — Topshop and Topman, is facilitating this expansion. The relaunch is part of John Lewis Partnership's wider £800 million long-term investment and transformation plan, led by managing director Peter Ruis, to enhance its fashion offerings and drive growth. Michelle Wilson, managing director of ASOS plc — Topshop, stated that the partnership aims to make ASOS plc — Topshop and Topman products more accessible to customers. The launch coincides with London Fashion Week and includes a collection of 130 of ASOS plc — Topshop's most in-demand pieces. John Lewis Partnership is also introducing 14 new fashion, jewellery, and accessory labels.
