Delhi Metro Station Names Changed

The State Names Authority, led by India — Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has finalized changes to metro station names in India — Delhi. Two stations, North Pitampura and Pitampura, were completely renamed to Haiderpur Village and Madhuban Chowk, respectively. Seven other stations had their names modified to include local references, such as Uttari Pitampura-Prashant Vihar and Jagatpur-Wazirabad. The Authority reviewed 21 proposed names from the India — Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, retaining 12 as originally suggested. The changes were made to better reflect local identity, historical, social, and cultural significance, and to improve commuter navigation, based on public sentiment and recommendations from local representatives and citizens.
