Azerbaijan Demines Liberated Territories

Azerbaijan is conducting extensive humanitarian demining operations in its liberated territories, with the Azerbaijan — Mine Action Agency (Azerbaijan) (ANAMA) leading the efforts. These operations, supported by the Azerbaijan — Ministry of Defence (Azerbaijan), the Russia — Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Azerbaijan — State Border Service of Azerbaijan, and private companies, aim to clear land of anti-tank mines, anti-personnel mines, and unexploded ordnance. Weekly reports indicate significant progress, with hundreds of mines and UXO detected and neutralized, and thousands of hectares of land cleared. This initiative is vital for ensuring the safety of local communities, facilitating reconstruction, and enabling the return of displaced residents to areas like Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankandi, Shusha, Khojavand, Lachin, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan.
