Indian Navy commissions ASW-SWC Anjadip

The India — Indian Navy is set to commission the Anjadip, the third vessel of the eight-ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) project, on February 27, 2026, at Chennai Port. This state-of-the-art warship, built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, is designed to enhance India's Anti-Submarine Warfare capabilities, particularly in coastal and shallow waters. The commissioning ceremony, presided over by Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, underscores India's 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative in defense, with over 80% indigenous content. The Anjadip is equipped with advanced indigenous ASW weapons and sensor packages, including the Hull Mounted Sonar Abhay, Lightweight Torpedoes, and ASW Rockets. It is also capable of coastal surveillance, Low-Intensity Maritime Operations, and Search & Rescue operations, further strengthening India's maritime security.
