The departure of Prabhkiran Singh, co-founder and CEO of Bewakoof, marks a leadership transition for the D2C fashion brand. While the immediate impact on Bewakoof's market performance is likely neutral given the structured handover and strong backing from Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail through Tacoma Rail, it signals a new phase for the company's growth strategy, particularly its offline expansion.
Prabhkiran Singh, co-founder and CEO of the online merchandising store Bewakoof, announced his resignation, effective at the end of March 2026, after a 14-year tenure. He cited personal goals, including health and family, as reasons for his departure. Bewakoof, which started as a small T-shirt startup in 2012, grew into a prominent Indian digital-first fashion brand. In late 2022, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, through its digital-first fashion venture Tacoma Rail, acquired a majority stake in Bewakoof for ₹200 crore. Since the acquisition, Bewakoof has expanded its presence beyond its direct-to-consumer platform to online marketplaces and has entered offline retail, with over 30 exclusive brand stores. Tacoma Rail CEO Prashanth affirmed the commitment to scaling Bewakoof into a long-term fashion powerhouse within the Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail ecosystem. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail managing director Ashish Dikshit also noted Bewakoof's recent turnaround and growth.
