Mike Ozekhome, Ponfa Useni Granted Bail

Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and his co-defendant, Ponfa Useni, were arraigned before the Nigeria — Federal Capital Territory (Nigeria) on a 12-count criminal charge. The charges, filed by the Office of the Nigeria — Attorney General of the Federation, allege forgery of documents, including an international passport and an irrevocable power of attorney. These documents were purportedly used to claim ownership of a London property allegedly acquired unlawfully by the late Jeremiah Useni. Both defendants pleaded not guilty and were subsequently granted bail by Justice Chizoba Oji for N10 million each, with conditions including providing a surety with property in the FCT and depositing their international passports with the court.
