Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced this milestone, highlighting the availability of world-class Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools from Cadence Design Systems, Synopsys, and Siemens in 315 universities across the country. Students are actively designing, fabricating, and testing semiconductor chips at the Semiconductor (SCL) in Mohali, gaining hands-on experience. The program, Semicon 2.0, will expand to 500 universities to further strengthen the talent pipeline, aiming to establish India as a global semiconductor hub.
