Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced plans to introduce robotic surgery services at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital and B. J. Medical College soon. The state government aims to equip all medical colleges with high-end medical technology comparable to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Despite financial challenges due to a reduction in the state budget, India — Himachal Pradesh plans to invest approximately Rs. 3,000 crore in advanced medical technologies. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also announced the establishment of a cardiology department, the introduction of postgraduate courses, an increase in senior residency posts, and the filling of vacant positions at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College. Additionally, stipends for senior resident doctors and super specialist doctors have been significantly increased.
