Jwala gives birth to 5 cubs

Namibian cheetah Jwala gave birth to five cubs at India — Kuno National Park in India — Madhya Pradesh, increasing India's total cheetah population to 53. This marks the 10th successful litter on Indian soil, with 33 Indian-born cubs. Union Environment Minister Devender Yadav and India — Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav hailed this as a significant milestone for Project Cheetah, which was initiated by Narendra Modi in September 2022 to reintroduce cheetahs to India after their extinction in 1952. The project has also seen the release of nine cheetahs from Botswana recently, further contributing to the growing population at India — Kuno National Park. This achievement is seen as a strong testament to the success of India's cheetah reintroduction efforts and a proud moment for wildlife conservation.
