Pittsburgh Priest Arrested for Walmart Theft

Aidan Smith, the head priest and dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Pittsburgh, was arrested on February 27 for allegedly stealing over $1,000 worth of baseball cards from a Walmart in Economy Borough. Police and Walmart security video indicate that Aidan Smith stole cards on multiple days, concealing them under his clothing and in a box. He faces charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property. The Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh, led by Bishop Ketlen A. Solak, has stated it will investigate the matter according to church canons, as Aidan Smith had already been on administrative leave since late January.
